Discovery Garden Learning
We offer three options for Montessori education:
DGMS At-School: In-classroom learning
In-classroom learning at our school in Springfield, MO includes toddler, primary and elementary classrooms, Creative Movement, Social Emotional and elective classes (yoga, French, etc.). Learning takes place at the school itself and includes our full Montessori curriculum, practical life and our amazing teachers and staff!
As a response to our community’s needs in phasing the COVID-19 pandemic we have develop several programs for children to learn remotely.
DGMS At-Home: Parent as Educator
If you are interested in continuing your child’s education at home (following the Montessori practices without an additional educator in the home), our Parent-as-Educator program is for you. Our staff will connect with you and your child virtually and support you as you create a Montessori environment in your home.
This program can also be administered by a caregiver / babysitter who can be trained in the Montessori practices and implement the program. Parent as Educator includes eight (8) hours of training for the individual implementing the program to help you become a Montessori-informed parent / caregiver AND set up your home for at home learning.
Elementary Parent as Educator
Includes:
- Two (2) daily, 30 minute, virtual group gathering (morning and afternoon)
- Two (2) virtual Creative Movement classes per week
- 15 – 30 minute, one-on-one, virtual lesson with school-lended Montessori material (3 – 4 times / week)
- Suggested schedule and weekly activities to implement at home
- Direct consultation from teacher as needed
- “How to Montessori at Home?” Training for adult implementing / teaching activities (1 hour training for 8 weeks)
Monthly cost per child: first month = $460; second month and on = $210
Primary Parent as Educator
Includes:
- One (1) daily, 30 minute, virtual group gathering
- Two (2) virtual Creative Movement classes per week
- 15 – 30 minute, one-on-one, virtual lesson with school-lended Montessori material (3 – 4 times / week)
- Suggested schedule and weekly activities to implement at home
- Direct consultation from teacher as needed
- “How to Montessori at Home?” Training for adult implementing / teaching activities (1 hour training for 8 weeks)

Toddler Parent as Educator
Includes:

DGMS At-Home: Pods
Let us create a Montessori SCHOOL in YOUR home. Discovery Garden at Home: Pods is a small group learning experience, where a small groups of children can come together in a home to learn from, and be in the care of under the care of, one of our talented teachers.
The Montessori approach integrates rich social development, refined learning materials, and practiced independence. Discovery Garden at Home Pods bring this experience to you in a residential setting. Our teachers will bring to you Montessori materials to borrow and implement for weeks at a time and/or bring teacher created materials for you to keep at home. Our teachers will cover all areas of study recommended your child’s level of development.
Our Home Pods provides the opportunity for you chil(ren) to learn at home with several other students, three (3) days a week, for three (3) hours at a time.
Includes:
- Assistance in matching with other families in your area looking to learn at home
- An experienced teacher ready to tailor the program to the needs of the students enrolled using Montessori based instruction
- Lended Montessori materials and home set-up guidance that will set the teacher and your child(ren) up for a successful experience
- State of the art Montessori curriculum tracking system for teachers and parents to monitor the lessons, and progress of every area of study
- Ongoing professional development and training opportunities for you and your assigned teacher
- Priority placement at our school if/when you are ready to enroll your child at an in-school program
Cost per pod:
Elementary – $275 weekly (up to 5 children); Primary – $285 weekly (up to 5 children); Toddler – $295 weekly (up to 4 children)
A la Carte Options
How to Montessori at home? Online training (8 hours): $250
Montessori Certified teacher consultation: $45 / hour.
At-Home Montessori Certified Teacher Consultation: $50 / hour
Creative Movement Class: $30 / class
